Emma
Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson, born in Paris France of British parents Jacqueline Luesby Watson and Chris Watson both of whom were lawyers. As a young girl, she relocated from London to Oxfordshire where she studied at The Dragon School. Emma had a dream to become a professional actor from the age of aged six. She studied at Stagecoach Theatre Arts in Oxford, an acting school that offers part-time classes. Through a school play as well as a Stagecoach production, Emma took as the lead role at age 10, and acted. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone, the 2001 film adaptation from J.K. Rowling's bestselling book was cast in 1999. Emma was initially discovered as a casting representative by her Oxford teacher of drama. David Heyman announced to Emma that following eight auditions Emma as well as Rupert Grint were chosen as Hermione and Harry Potter. Emma's first appearance in a film was as a part of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in 2001. The film set records for opening-day sales and opening-weekend takings and was the highest-grossing film of the year 2001. The film received praise from experts, and also by the performance of three new stars. The Daily Telegraph praised Emma for her performance. Emma was later awarded five prizes for her performance in the movie.
